Last night

The moonlight breeze was thick and cold
I could smell the beauty of the night in the air
The long and narrow street was lined up with cars
I caught a reflection of what seemed to me on a side window
My reflection smiled back... morale was up
I had barely walked up the street when I saw her
Time seemed to slow down to half it's normal pace
Yet my pulse didn’t seem to correlate with the change
It was an emancipation of feelings rather than fear
As I moved closer to her, the more I appreciated her beauty
Her gorgeous smile lit up the poorly lit road
As we drew close to each other, our bodies shared a warm embrace
Pleasantries ensued for the next minute and a half
She looked so beautiful, so elegant
I had to bite my tongue to stop the never-ending compliments
We sought solace from the blistering cold in my car
The orange light from the halogen lamp gave her face an amazing hue
Concealing parts of her face and exposing other parts
The rich mix of silhouettes and texture enhanced her beauty
"What was she thinking?" I stopped to ask myself
Her eyes and smile told me something
But her posturing told me otherwise
Was it all in my head...?
I hadn't felt like this in a long time...
Wanting to spend the whole night with a person
For that very moment, nothing seemed to matter...
It felt like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden
The external had become the internal
And the internal had manifested itself in the external
There was something I admired in her serene and tranquil self
Her being shy felt intrinsic to her nature
I was charmed by her sweet spirit
In a few minutes she was leaving again
I watched her walk away, and then I remembered...
There were so many things I'd wanted to say to her
And I hadn't... I whispered one of them...
Hoping she'd hear... Did she?
"Can't let you walk away from me...
There's something I want to tell you...
...tell you in your ears...
Isn't it clear that I want you?"
