A revelation, deep down under...

18:47, Oxford Circus station, Saturday evening rush, the South bound Victoria line platform was busting with people of all shapes and sizes, some clutching on to shopping bags... Topshop, John Lewis, House of Fraser... the list goes on. She caught the sight of him walking towards her... not again, it's been the third time this week, getting approached in the underground. She decided she was going to freeze him out before he even started. How was she going to do this? Oh yeah turn and look at him before he uttered a word (usually she'd wait till the guy said something before looking at him). She looked at him, he had short evenly cut hair... a big Levi logo wide across his shirt. He wasnt bad looking neither was he an attention stealer... to sum it up she wasnt about to engage in a conversation that was going to end with her giving him her number.

"I was having an argument with my friend just a few minutes ago..." he started. He was pretty
confident in his approach. He'd done this a few times she thought. "Pointy shoes... plain gay or fashionable?"She thought as to why he'd single her out on the whole platform to ask her such a question. Just as she was
about to answer.

"I figured out you'd be the sort of person to ask... you look open minded in a conservative way but
yet still in a fashionable way..." Okay, subtle compliment... he's a pro.

"Well I think they are trendy, it's not just about the pointy shoes... it's your whole persona... it
has to be an overall image... if you know what I mean." she said. Why was she giving him the time of the day?

"Ermm... sort of... I mean like white pointy shoes with stones encrusted in them... kinda like boots?" he probed further.

"That's a bit too much..." she smiled. "I know... they not cheap either... going for about four hundred pounds... I mean that's not the issue, I would spend that sort of money on shoes but they just have to be right... that's why I was asking you." OOohh... brother got a few pounds on him. That didnt make him stand out, she'd met a few big players in her time, but there was just something that kept her in the conversation. "Why the whole shoe conversation anyway?" she asked... she really wanted to know... shoes??? what a weird ice breaker?

"Well my friend kept on saying pointy shoes look really sexy on men but I was a bit iffy on them... I dont muck about when it comes to my dressing..." he said. This is getting long, she thought. Time to freeze him out.

"Shying away from your feminine side uh? this your friend, I think he sounds interested, I'd like to meet him... he sounds open minded just like me right?" she smiled. She was going to watch the agony descend on his face.

"Ahh... you wouldnt want to meet her... trust me." he said. Oh it's a she, was it a lie? sort of like a defence mechanism?

"She's the world's clumsiest person. She almost got us arrested yestereday. We were on the way from the airport yesterday... so we were driving in her Mercedes convertible on the M4 from Heathrow..."

"Merc uh?" she interrupted.

"Yeah... it was given to her by her agency... she does the whole modelling thing... she's done a few big names actually... she was coming from Italy after a shoot for Valentino." he continued. Hmm... interesting... modelling.

"I might be interested in her still... I wanna get into the fashion thing as well... I need someone to give me a few pointers." Anything just to let him know I'm not interested but he had so much to say I still felt drawn to the conversation. Yet I wasnt willing to carry this conversation further.

"Well I'll talk to her." he said. Then a miracle happened... the dark tunnel lit up as the next train appeared at the end. "Since you into the whole fashion thing... I'm looking to get a few things for myself next week and I was thinking maybe you wanna help out."

"Ahh... I'm kinda busy next week." she said. What cheek... he thinks he's sly.

"Cool... in the case it was nice talking to you..."

"You too..."

"You know what I enjoyed talking to you, it might be nice if we could meet up for lunch sometimes and talk about your fashion ambition..." he said... ahh so cute... he was hanging on. she couldnt let this puppy down so cold... so she did it the the lady like way.

"Give me your number." she said. She knew she wasnt going to call him...

"Well... I've got this thing about giving out my number... I get a few stalkers... I'd rather you give me your number.. in that case, I'm in control of things..." He's actually smarter than I thought he was... trying to evade my trap. Good on him.

"Oh well... you definitely dont wanna meet up for lunch then." she said as the train was pulling to a halt.

"Ok then." he said. "No stalking though" as she started to put his number on my phone.

"Call me or something." He said as he started to walk away. She got into the tube carriage and sat down... she looked to the left and saw him in the other carriage. She smiled to herself as she hit the "Save" option on her mobile phone.

You'd ask yourself what the above was all about... here's just something I want to point out... this is something that happened to a friend of mine... and I asked if she was interested in him... he sounded interesting and had a lot of things to say... he seemed like he had a few pounds to spare... had nice friends who were doing well... even one is a model... and he was at least decent looking... was confident enough to approach a good looking lady... and she said something really profound... it hit me like a brick... she said she became interested in him when he was willing to walk away without her number.

You hear that? Willing to walk away without her number. A lot of guys put up a fight (not a physical one... I hope)... when a girl decides to take their number rather than give her's. Some girls might clearly not be interested or sometimes they play hard to get... but you dont have to appear desperate for it. It's your perogative to say stuff like... "Ahh, you think you are smart... you aint going to call me... I rather have yours" (i think that's really unattractive by the way... I think the way the guy dropped in the her case was really subtle... even though he probably made it up... whatever works for you right?)

DESPERATE GUYS AREN'T ATTRACTIVE!!! YOU NEED TO SHOW YOU HAVE OPTIONS... A GUY WHO HAD A LOT OF OPTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO WOMEN WOULDNT HAVE TO GIVE A WOMAN A HUNDRED AND ONE REASONS AS TO WHY SHE SHOULD GIVE HIM HER NUMBER!!!!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!!
